Our Origin Story
From hackathon project to web intelligence platform
A friend mentioned they had a team in India manually going through every municipality in California, finding municipal audit files and extracting fields. These files aren't indexed by Google—you need to navigate local government sites and fill out forms to retrieve them.
We thought: "An AI agent should do this."
So we built one. That hackathon project became rtrvr.ai—a Chrome extension that could compile forms and extract data from any website. Seven months later, we'd evolved it into a full platform with Cloud APIs, WhatsApp bots, and MCP servers. The web intelligence layer for the agentic era.
The Journey
The Spark

Jan-Aug 20257 months of focused development building the most robust browser automation Chrome extension from the ground up.
The Pivot
Aug-Nov 2025Realized we needed to become agentic infrastructure—web intelligence anywhere developers need it. Took the platform offline and rebuilt for 3 months.
Act 2 Launch
Nov 12, 2025Relaunched with Cloud API, WhatsApp bot, MCP server, and Extension-as-API architecture. 20,000+ users in weeks.
